wallpaper for a small stairway area

I am looking for trendy ideas for replacement wallpaper choice(s) for the walls (and possibly the ceiling) of the stairway between by foyer and my basement family room. I want it to be beautiful when viewed up close. My house is a 1925 Georgian colonial. I want something contemporary with texture and whimsy and not dark for my transitional style. I live in Chicago.

You already have wall paper so what are you asking and why is the TV where it is ,just asking.I would need to see the rooms this stairway is next to so I can get some idea of your decor since this will need to work with both.IMo wall paer is chosen before wall color so are planning on painting/ The one you have now does not work with your wall color .

The tv is m my kitchen next stairway where I want to replace the current wallpaper. The current striped wallpaper is what I am replacing. I know that it doesn't go with my current paint. That's why I am replacing it. I have added a few more photos of surrounding area.
