If multiple repair technicians have not been able to correct the problem, it may be the printed circuit board. Maybe changes in humidity are causing intermittent problems.

Sometimes sensors are really one active one that transmits and one that either reflects the active sensor or receives the active one. Your problem may be as simple as the passive or reflective sensor is not "pointing" exactly at the active one or that the active sensor is not pointed at the other.

Another possibly more likely issue is that the up-force adjustment is not correct.

A bad connection of the wire from a sensor to the motor unit can cause this, as can a wire that has been damaged by a too-tight staple during installation.
