I love a good free standing tub! I think they add character and in my brain, it seems to give you more space rather than a tiled in block in the corner of your bathroom. You can always use a swifter to clean the dust behind and around the tub. Here are some inspo pics!

This one had a board that goes across for your soaps, candles and most importantly your drink (these boards seem to be the most practical and popular choice). They also have a caddy mounted on the wall for more storage. I love how this claw foot's exterior is painted green.

This one is tucked away in the corner and they used shelving for storage. Also note the stool

Similar to the first but they put in a bump out like you'd see in showers for more storage.

This one is a good happy-medium, still a free standing but it has it's own tiled in space.

There are tons of options and IMO i don't think free standing tubs are going to go out of style. We've been using claw foot tubs since the beginning of time haha! My only piece of advice other than doing what your heart pleases is to pick a good material for your tub. My parents have a free standing made out of some sort of stone and no matter how hot you have the water, it turns cold in 10 minutes. Porcelain is the way to go. Hope this helps! I love freestanding soaking tubs. Some people concerned with balancing getting in and out as well as cleaning around it if it ends being too close to the wall.

I grew up with claw foot one which was at least 100 years old, thosecare timeless beauties.

I am considering getting one in my new house.
