Design Advice Open Kitchen Dining

We've finalized our cabinets/countertop colors and plan to go with a white cabinet color and white quartz countertops. We will incorporate wood/gold/black accents and are hoping for a classic, "timeless" look. I have just about reached my wit's end with this remodel. I'm confident on mostly everything but could REALLY use some help/feedback on the thoughts that are still lingering.

*considering faint veining on countertops. will that go out of style soon?

*as you can see, we are including a butler's "pantry" - more like cabinets with countertop in our dining area. would you keep this the same color scheme/style as in the kitchen or change it up - given that it's a different "space?"

*photo at the end is the look/feel I am going for.

    Hoping someone can help me!

based on your inspiration pic I'd keep it white. However I would choose a different counter and a different hardware as well. Do you want anything on the walls there? Is it a peninsula coming off the wall...or a table positioned like a peninsula?

Yes it is a peninsula coming off the wall. Our space is too small for an island unfortunately! Ok so a different counter for buffet? Any suggestions on color? I totally agree about the hardware. We plan to do open shelving above the buffet. Might add cabinets above down the line if we feel like the space needs it.

peninsula is near that door and area in question is across and back away from kitchen a bit...under the beam and then beyond. couldn't the peninsula top and questioned area top be the same and a different top from task part of kitchen?

I would love to see an island here. I’m assuming it’s impossible tho? I’m also assuming you didn’t want to do it because of the beam but I don’t see a wall anywhere and would reconsider. Anyways I would love to see another color cabinet. A wood color. Same countertops tho.

Thank you! We have tried the island concept. I pushed and pushed! Fiance is not willing to put in the work/$ required to accommodate an island (move door/electrical etc.). Wish we could make it work.

Would you do wood even with a wood beam?

I hear. It’s a big project but just a thought. Can definitely be wood with wood. You should match the two but not even overly necessary

if that is an 8 foot ceiling and the beam is already too much to work into everything aesthetically I think its something to consider painting. We aren't in the space when we look at a pic. but 8 foot ceiling with a beam in that prominent location/ dimensions rather chunky should be evaluated. At first the garage door w peninsula right there made me question how great the seating would be. and island might be better . but island is out.....so peninsula stays. I might consider wall cabinets between bulletin board and side of beam that come down near or resting on peninsula. so if you build something up on the wall like that I think painting the beam to blend in w ceiling might be the way to go. You can add these wall cabinets later. they can be nice display /glass doors/ . Take the stark feel of the garage door all alone and do more there.

I'm not understanding why an island doesn't work. It seems you have an open concept with nothing in the way. Why would you need to move the door?

I also don't see why the door would have to move, and you need electrical in a peninsula just as much as an island. In fact, if you did a non-fixed island, you don't even need the electrical. The peninsula looks too far away from anything to be useful, and it forces anyone going in/out of that door to go right through the work triangle. What are your aisle widths?
