We are installing a curbed shower, large format tile, with linear drain. We like the ease of wedi, but they only have two sizes. One too big, one too small. When I called the rep, and told him I want to have the linear drain wall to wall, he explained the only way I can do this is to “cricket” my tiles to accommodate the smaller sized drain. Now, my dreams of one continuous slope to the drain are being crushed! My husband said make the cuts. To me, this looks like we couldn’t figure out how to do it, and have a bunch of cuts in the large format tile. Here is what I don’t get....With the short drain, it has 6” of space to either side. What is to keep water from going past and just sitting in the corner of the shower? What is the best shower installation for a linear drain that goes the length of the shower? We may switch to schluter, they have many drain lengths, but that seems to have a buildup problem, especially around the drain and in the corners. Any advice is appreciated!!
