Hi! I am redoing my fireplace which is across from my kitchen. I found a thin brick that I would like to use. Am I able to place it directly over the current granite? Or does the granite need to be removed?
Also if I ever wanted to have a conversion to a gas fireplace, would it be a problem to have the painted brick on the inside covering the granite.
I attached a photo below with what I want the new mantle to look like.
