Help me elevate my windows...

I know these need to be hung higher. I bought 108" panels, which would take them to the ceiling. Should I go that high, or have them 3-4 inches down and puddle a bit, or hem? So many options, and I don't want to make holes in the wall until I get some help thinking it all through. :) Thanks! (Pardon the horrible lighting in the picture - it's all I had time to take today.)

It looks like from the photo, if you push up to the ceiling it will conflict with the crown molding trim at the fireplace. I would mount them higher, but just under the bottom of that crown trim.

I totally agree with K. O'Brien. Only thing to add is hem them to floor length.

I forgot to mention that the sheers are only 96". Should I shop for longer ones, or would it look good to have them hang below? I never knew how many details there were to pay attention to...

Do you need the sheers for pirvacy? If so, get the same length as your hung panels will be. If not, do without them.

There's just something about the drapes coming straight down with the fireplace that does not seem right. It seems more like they are framing the fireplace instead of the window, especially if they continue to go higher, just like the fireplace.

Yes hang them as high as you can, and you may want to consider painting the fireplace a few shades lighter than the wall color. Its looks too stark with all the dark furnishings. Good Luck!
