Great question, small bar. So I like the wine storage idea, but that’s covered right around the corner.

Appreciate the sentiment, but we’ve done many iterations of configurations and this is the best option for us and the rest of the space. Plus, the cost/benefit of renovations...for us, we have to examine those trade offs. So now, just trying to make the best of what it will be.

Leave it plain and let other areas be the focal points.

I would just match it to the ones under it, plain inset. It’s a very sleek kitchen, I wouldn’t break it up with something forced there ... and something that would end up being a focal point (but shouldn’t). You can easily change it later if you’d like, but I’d live with it a while first to see what your needs are.
