2021 start.

A resolution for this year was to try to reduce the string/scrap bins.

This is the first quilt in that queue.

However, I don’t see the pile shrinking.

Well, that's a fun quilt, Theresa. Good job! I know what you mean about the scrap pile not shrinking. A fast as I use them up, I seem to accumulate more. You make a scrap quilt, but you have to buy background fabric or a border or backing. Then you end up with more scraps from those fabrics. It seems to be a never-ending cycle.

    Nice quilt, Theresa!

I haven’t bought any fabric in probably 18 months and I’m still quilting. LOL

Nice looking quilt. I know what you mean about the scraps. I don't get it.

Donna, the only new fabric is the grey. Rest is all from that overflowing string bin. I too have not really bought any new except flannel for backings. Now that I have said that, I have to confess that the wedding quilt had all new fabric. But that was a special quilt.

Before Christmas, I was in the local fabric store getting flannel, and they had some solids on special. That is one type I don’t have so I bought a few pieces.

So I am good to sew forever from stash. String quilt number two is taking shape in my brain. Should get started this week, I hope.

Theresa, another good finish! I agree, I think the scraps invite friends in during the night and they have a wild party and out pop more little scraps!

A great quilt, Theresa. I think I'm going to have to start thinking of scraps as bigger pieces of fabric than what's in my scrap pile. lol

Well done, Theresa! How many more do you think you can make from all those scraps, lol? If you make too much progress, Jackie may send you more "packing materials".

I do not save strings so much, but I think I could make 3-4 more queen sized Scrap Magnet quilts with all of the 2X2inch squares that remain in my stash!

I am afraid to think about how many more can be made. I didn’t even touch the 2 1/2“ strip bin. Yikes!

Lol, I was perusing quilt books on the internet earlier & I found another idea for strings that I really liked...cutting circles out of pieced strings. The book I saw is called String Quilt Style by Mary M. Hogan.
