I need to see the cabinets IMO if this is anew kitchen the flooring should be under the cabinets so no need for shoe mold but I need to see the issue. The toe kick and the sho mold needs to be the same material and color if you have to have it.

You do not need shoe mold I would run a tiny bead of clear caulk between the floor and the kick if there seem to be any small gaps

It looks perfect as is, your contractor did a beautiful job.

Agree with Diana with dark flooring and light cabinets you don't need the shoe and don't apply the calk it will not hold, become loose and it will be noticeable down the road.
