Can we see the whole room and the wall paper That bedding IMO will fight with wallpaper . I like wallpaper on an uninterrupted wall so not where there is a door. But I need to see the whole room and what are all the paint swatches for?

The door will interrupt the paper and become the focal point. Do a panel just a bit wider than the bed floor to ceiling and trim with a bit of moulding on the vertical edges.

It would look like you ran out of wallpaper if you stop to the right of the door. If you're going to do it, you have to do the entire wall, including around the door.

Thanks for the response! Have added another couple of photos. Re the bedding, have lots of different colours and patterns (or plain), so that's probably not an issue. The paint swatches are actually wallpaper swatches. The one I've gone for is 3rd from the left, link below. It's a slightly textured linen-effect paper, so pretty plain.

And if relevant, opposite the bed is just white floor to ceiling wardrobes across the whole wall.

I agree that that door is in quite an irritating position and that it would become the "focal point" with a darker colour wall.

How about wallpapering (or mounting fabric) the same width as the bed headboard? If continued all the way to the ceiling, I think it would look more balanced. ETA: I just noticed the "button?" near the headboard -- what is that?

Thank you everyone for your input and ideas! A few things there that I hadn't thought of, and predictably all better than what I'd planned.

And the wallpaper I've already purchased hasn't gone to waste as I knew it would fit in another room nicely as well (that doesn't have a door in the way you'll all be thrilled to hear).
