Seems to me the dining room could be dressed up a bit with drapeies, a chandelier to replace the ceiling fan and a canvas on the wall.

Not sure what color might work with the striped chairs or the kiddies table in the eat in area. so I just selected a tan and white print for the draperies. These draperies don't have to pull close if you keep the horizontal blinds on the windows.

I would have used wider plantation blinds for privacy. I think they are more charming. See examples below.

You'll probably want to draw the draperies on the patio door. If you don't plan to have custom make draperies, you'll have to link a number of panels together to cover the three-panel doors, probably 5 or 6 panels minimum to make it look professional.

I will get custom, Etsy has some great drapery shops. One more question, would you do the drapes in the same color for all windows? I was thinking white cotton not linen as I dont like the wrinkle look with a blue band or Greek scroll for the sliding doors and kitchen area, and a solid blue for the dining to add some color.

If you are going custom, I'd get rid of the blinds. They are not giving you a high end look. If you like the shade/curtain layered look, you could do bamboo shades for not too much $$ and they just look nicer than the metal blinds.

In your kitchen, is there enough space for people to walk around the table and move chairs if you have curtains? Or maybe you could do shades there. I don't think they all need to be the same fabric. Maybe one fabric for kitchen and patio (if you're doing custom, you can have shades made of the same fabric as your patio door curtains). Another coordinating fabric for your dining room to make that area more special. If you plan to open and close your curtains a lot, don't make the same mistake I did! Spring for a custom-sized curtain rod so that you don't have the bump where a non-custom rod meets. I had to replace a rod like that because the curtain rings constantly got stuck at the connection spot.
