The wall cladding selection for the shower continues.

I am currently looking at marble or granite. Polycor does 1CM stone with a carbon fiber backing - making it ideal for wall cladding. It's also responsibly sourced in the US which is important to me (totally should NOT have read the NGO reports on imported quarried stone...)

I am attaching 2 pics - one of the overall bathroom (and the tub is currently sitting in the shower - it should be far to the left under the window) and the shower itself. The bath pic also shows the floating vanities and the tub will also have an apron in the same walnut. Vanities have white porcelain vessel type sinks and I will be using a plain dark granite for the tops and the tub deck on 2 sides.

Here's my dilemma - shower walls - black honed granite or white and grey book matched marble?

I have a dark shower today and not sure I wanted another. BUT..... this room is large enough and has enough light and contrast that I kinda think it would be striking. The shower will have the 2 walls done in the cladding and the other 2 will be floor to ceiling glass.

Is the marble thing being overdone? It is too traditional for my modern house? it it too much white?

I never thought I would be here considering black granite for my shower - but here I am. - there's just something striking about it and the brushed aluminum fixtures and the juxtaposition of the read of the "whiteness" of the room.....

HELP!

PS - the steel structure will be painted the dark grey that is the rest of the steel - this was red oxide primer.
