I feel if you want ideas you should go to a granite dealer - look at 300. Hat feeling are you interested in creating? Modern, edgy, classic. Do you prefer a solid or mixed stone, honed or highly polished? There are over one million photos on this site - peruse the kitchen and bath photos and collect your favourites then the community or a local pro can hel you make your project a reality.

Thanks Joanne. Ive been to many places and talked to a bunch of people. Im a big visualizer so I need to see a picture of everything put together to make a decision. Lol these are the first pics Ive found that have every little thing that our new kitchen will have, from the cabinets, hardware, appliances, and floor. Just needed to make a decision on granite color and I love this one here but like I said, I couldnt find the original source of the photo to get the granite info. So I was wondering if any of you wonderful "experts" out there could give an educated guess :)

This could be Cambria's Canterbury which would make it Quartz if it is. :)

It is definitely granite and also may be Giallo Ornamental. I have Giallo Napoleon which is close. You really need to go to look at slabs. There are so many granites that look like this with slight variations. Take this picture and pick from a slab. This is a picture of mine.

Agree w/Riddle. I lean more toward Santa Cecelia though, NVG is usu. a bit yellower. Worst part though is that not everyone uses the same names. Many do, but sometimes people will change names to make it harder to comparison shop

I meant to say take your picture to look at slabs. Some of the similar granites have splashes of orange and busier patterns. I've read many posts on here where people are so disappointed with their choice of granite from not picking their slab.

This could be one of several granites that can appear very similar upon first glance. My recommendation is to go to your local stone warehouse and ask a professional. Each stone also can vary in color, movement and texture so even though it may look like something in a picture, once viewed in person, you may find you don't care for it.

THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!! The guy at Home DEpot said only the "expensive" c/d group granites run the chance of looking completely different on the actual slab than what you see in the store. He said the cheaper a/b group ones are pretty much what you see is what you get. Is this true? Now you are all making me nervous !

Never buy your natural stone by looking at the samples that Home Despot have on display. If they can't send you to the fabricator to look at the slabs then walk away, it's much too expensive a purchase. There should be fabricators in your area that carry stock that you can look at, find one you want and put your name on it. :) Also look at Quartz products, if you can find a Cambria dealer in your area or a decorator that sells Cambria have a look at this product too.

Andrea, I'm a designer at Home Depot and I agree completely with viewing the slab before making a final decision. We always recommend that our customers do that even for the more "consistent" granite colors.

The Home Depot guy you talked to is very wrong. The rock doesn't know how much it's going to cost. Even granite like Absolute Black, which is pretty much just a black rock, has variation. Something like Santa Cecelia is going to be all over the place. If you don't pick your slab(s), you might as well choose a rock blindfolded. Sometimes fabricators will have a yard, or you can pick at a place that just sells rock and then pick your fabricator.

Unfortunately the place that does the granite for our Home Depot here is near NJ about 2-3 hrs away!! If we want to look at it thats how far we have to go. ugh. it is more cost effective for us to go with Home Depot too.... we priced out the local granite places in our area and they are a lot more expensive. Its better for our budget. this kind of stinks huh?!
