Caribbean Block Party finished

I finished the binding on this quilt on Friday (top was made last year). The pattern is Block Party from Primitive Pieces. The cover image is dark, rustic colors. I call my bright version Caribbean Block Party. It's 75" square. Quilting it was a challenge with my 9" Juki machine. I did meander quilting in the corners and a wreath-type design in the four center blocks. I wanted to add texture and interest to the houses, so I had the crazy idea to load the quilt on the frame at a 45 degree angle. It worked okay, but I don't think I'll do it again! LOL Another quilting challenge was that the outer edges are all bias, so it tried to stretch. It's all from my stash.

I made street signs for each side. :)

That's awesome. It must have taken some figuring to get everything to fit just right. I can't even cut borders to fit.

I agree - where is the WOW button? You did an amazing job on your quilting. It's always a challenge doing big quilts on small machines and you knocked it out of the park! Great job.Sue

Thanks, everyone! Sharon, yes, the doors and windows are machine appliqued with satin stitch. I added different "sashing" to the windows and changed up the placement of the windows and doors to add interest. I had to add a bit of length to the house sections, so I added brown and blue strips to look like fences.

That's fantastic! Those are really tiny squares. I'm having fits with my machine and tiny 1/2 square triangles.
