Nothing matches! Kitchen help needed

I'm so confused! We are in the process of purchasing this home.

The paint is a very light shade of gray which I like.

The floors are a red colored tile. It's a former model home which means the tiles must be expensive (not sure what kind) and I feel awful ripping them out.

The cabinets are good quality - I'm scared to refinish them a darker color or paint them white in case it doesn't turn out nice.

The granite counter tops work well with the current color theme (minus the paint).

I have always wanted to go with a clean, sleek modern look with grays, blacks, and whites. I like floors where it's dirt isn't blatantly obvious. I'm leaning away from white cabinets since I have small children.

What is the best combination of colors for cabinets, floors, and countertops I could go with (without changing the paint)? Trying to do all of this on a budget of course!

Thanks for your help in advance!

Whoa...slow down! You haven't even completed purchase of the home yet. That is a very attractive kitchen, and you might find it "grows" on you. Live there a while, get acclimated to the new environment then decide what to change.

The paint color is actually the oddball in the whole configuration.

I agree with @suedonim75 that it is the paint color that is a bit off. I also agree with @porkchop_z5b_MI that you need to live with the kitchen before deciding what changes you might want. When I saw the subject title "Nothing matches!", I thought we were going to see a disastrous hodgepodge of colors instead of the quite nice kitchen that you have. The thing is, everything actually matches except the wall paint, and even the wall paint isn't bad.

If there was one thing I'd change, it's the backsplash.

I am sorry, but it's never going to be a "sleek, modern look" that is your fantasy kitchen. If you want that, it's a complete do-over. And by the way, ripping out that floor and replacing it will cost a lot, and not be budget friendly that you want, and sometimes when you rip out a floor, it starts a chain of required changes that add up and add up.

Yes, it was a model home years ago with probably a warmer wall color. Someone decided to "update it" with a gray wall color because they thought that it would make the house appeal to more buyers. Too bad.

    ^^^^This.

It's a very nice kitchen as is (minus the paint, which should be an easy fix). It's just not the kitchen you dreamed of. Try to learn to love it, because the makeover you dream of is $$$$. It looks nicely laid out, which I think you will appreciate once you start working in it.

Beautiful kitchen. The floors appear to be travertine which, you are correct, are expensive and an upgrade. I would absolutely not paint anything in that kitchen except the walls.

You will want to put hardware on the cabinets to cut down on grimy fingers all over them.

I agree with all the comments. Paint the walls a neutral if not a warm white. You can still decorate your family room with grays and white if you like those colors, with a dark gray sofa and a rug that incorporates the beige from the travertine with the gray and black you like. I would update the pendant lights.
