Restore old stone tile (marble?) floor

Hello, I've received such great advice here before, so here we go again. We have an old stone tile (marble?) floor in our entry way that looks pretty beat up. The tile is dull, chipped and some cracked and especially the old grout makes it look not very inviting.

Does it make sense trying to restore this floor, and keep the old floor in? Or should I rather bite the bullet and replace the whole floor?

How big of an area are we speaking about? I would have a restoration company come in to access the tile before making a decision but I see nothing in those few tile that would not clean up nicely with some new grout and a good cleaning by a tile restoration company. Would be a shame to trash nice marble tile unless absolutely necessary.

^^^As above. The cost to remove and replace (with same) is going to be $18+ per square foot.

The cost to polish, regrout and reseal = $5/sf or so. I'm super lazy and extremely cheap...which means I try to work with the lowest priced option that gets me the 'most for the least'. Which is why I LOVE floors that can be refinished and refinished and refinished and refinished.

A stone floor should offer 200+ years of life. Compare that to vinyl....yah.
