Hi Everybody,

I'm in the early planning stages of a kitchen remodel. The space where the stove is, is about 60" wide (I'm going by a floorplan--not in the apartment yet). I'm planning on getting a Bluestar 30" open range and putting two Ikea 15" cabinets in the space--one cabinet on either side of the stove.

A newbie question:

Ikea cabinets--and most base cabinets I see--are 24" deep. The Bluestar is nearly 30" deep. if I want the front of the cabinets a few inches back the front from the oven door, how does that work? (Meaning vs. 5" inches back.) Does the contractor have to build something that extends the depth of the cabinets to the wall so the countertop is fully supported? Like bracing? And do Ikea contractors do that?
