I honestly wonder if it's a problem, to be honest. Depending on where it's placed, it may be a very short distance/very close to a hole/port to outside air. The biggest downside, to this situation, is potential lint.

If it terminates, in the middle of the attic with no attempt to even move the air past the floor, then I could see it as an issue.

Out of curiosity, when was your Condo built?

You are correct in that lint is a major issue. It was being blown into the attic. I have not lived here long so who knows when this was last cleaned. This past winter there was a lot of truss movement, drywall cracks on the ceilings and walls in every room in both upstairs condo units and building the common area now, and condensation issues with the ducts leaving yellow stains in one area. I was told just fix the cracks by contractors sent by HOA, but now believe I’ve now found a contributing factor and need it to be addressed. The unit built in ‘99.

Seems a bit odd to me. Are they telling you they are unable to service after seeing or being told the exact problem? Or is it because demand in your area is high and they just cannot get out to give you a quote?

After providing details about what I need done and asking for a quote, multiple HVAC and roofing companies have replied telling me they don't offer this type of service. I'm glad they are not taking on projects they don't feel qualified to complete, but I also need the work done. Here's a picture prior to the vent cleaning.

If they cant cut the roof or soffit then the only alternative is to buy a ventless dryer =- Miele or Bosch

But at some point, you are going to need to get a general contractor & HOA Approval to fix this. As it just occurred to me earlier, you probably have a shared roof. You are definitely going to need HOA Approval before touching it, or drilling into side of the home to vent a new hole.

I see why contractors don't want to touch this. It's a disaster.

Thank you for all of the replies. Laundry Mich, that may be part of it for sure. My HOA's management company is notoriously slow to respond to residents and sometimes does not respond at all... Some second floor units have vents, but only about 30-40% of them. Good news, I may have found someone who can do this job for me through a friend of a friend.
