No, the backsplash does not “match.” And, it was a mistake to put that busy tile above the 4” backsplash. Do either one, or the other. Backsplash on top of backsplash is a big no-no.

I don’t see how you’d put crown molding above the cabinets. Theres a soffit in the way...and that’s a whole lotta space to fill, to get it up to the ceiling.

No, the backsplash has a cool tone compared with the warm colors in the laminate counters. I would not invest in any type of backsplash, until I saved up enough to replace the counters. Maybe an inexpensive peel and stick backsplash to get by in the meantime (it looks like that's what's there now).

I also would not put crown molding on the cabinets. It's an expense that wouldn't really add any value to the current kitchen. Just money spent.

The backsplash is stone tile and it was done a year ago. I’m thinking about keeping it and get rid of the 4 inch one. I knew something was off in my kitchen I couldn’t figure it out. Thank you all so much.

My husband and I are in process of building a new home and my kitchen cabinets are light gray. Also thinking about a darker gray color for the kitchen island. Do you think these two colors will work?
