I would recommend you have the garbage slide out left of the sink and the dishwasher right of the sink.

Dishwasher is best to the left of the sink so it isn't in your prepping area. I'd center the sink on the left window (so you aren't looking at window casing while doing dishes) and put the trash to the right of the sink. That way the trash is in between the sink and prep area.

Having the dishes located behind the dishwasher would be my ideal situation as long as the aisle width is wide enough so that the door to the dishwasher is open and the drawers are fully extended. It makes for an easy transfer if you have a dishwasher with a third rack for flatware, and store the flatware in the top drawer directly opposite.

I see a very tight clearance at Island. Where's the flat layout and cabinet plan with all the dimensions and clearances. Not this elevation.....the" boring " plan with all the inches.

Unloading dishes to an island drawer is NO big deal. Personally? I find "hiding" every day appliances a royal pain. toaster excepted. If you use a blender daily? You use it. Get a good looking blender.

I added an appliance cabinet next to the fridge in my remodel and it's one of my favorite cabinets. The only counter appliance we use on a daily basis is the coffee maker and it sits out. Even our toaster - which maybe gets used once a week - lives in a drawer under the coffee maker. If DH gets back into his "smoothie phase," I will gladly let the Vitamix live on the counter. But it is just the two of us so that may be a consideration.

Our garbage is left of sink, dishwasher is right, opposite to dishwasher across the aisle is dish drawer. It’s amazing. Reality is appliances you use often will stay on counter. No one takes coffee maker in and out each day and most people don’t with toaster either

Ideally, dish drawer convenient to both the DW and to the dining area where the dishes will be placed for meals. If you load your plates in the kitchen and then go sit down to eat, that might be less important. Its always good to have the fridge near the dining area so you can easily grab the mayo or butter if you forgot it.

What's the narrow base cabinet to the left of the range? Is that super susan in the corner? What do you plan to store there?

If you haven't done it already, make a plan of where everything will go in the new kitchen - that will tell you what kind of storage you need where.

What’s happening in the cabinets to the right of the fridge? Could you have that as a hutch where you store your coffee maker, toaster, and blender - or whatever you use daily? That way it’s plugged in and you have a counter space on which to work?

I had a hutch included in my kitchen that was supposed to house my blender and the drip coffee maker. Well, turns out that those slide in doors are kind of a pain on a daily basis...and I can't stand seeing them left open. So while the blender still lives in the hutch bottom (used every morning), the 2-3 times a day used coffee maker now sits on the counter. I hide other stuff in the appliance garage, and I never push those doors back in. My everyday glasses, bowls and plates are all stored in large drawers opposite from the dw. It eliminated so much whining from my teens...they don't have to take even 1 step to unload, that alone was a win.

Same with my friend. Her KD pushed her hard on the hutch and she eventually agreed it would be a nice compromise but she really doesn’t like it in practice because the doors are always open and family members would “forget” to push in the roll out tray with the coffee maker and toaster.

I’m glad I saw hers IRL because it made me realize that would drive me nuts.

I’m designing my kitchen to have dishwasher on opposite side of sink to where the oven is. So for your pic leave dishwasher to the left... my reason being is when I’m cooking and trying to clean as I go, I don’t want to have to walk around an open dishwasher or fall, or opening and closing it throughout cooking... to turn around and put stuff away sounds fine, might have to stack on island or counter first but not the biggest deal! Looking great I also think maybe move sink so you’re looking outside!
