I'm new here so please be nice... I have NO idea what I'm doing. Our kitchen is a mess and I need help so I'm turning to strangers. Seems like a good plan right?

We've taken out all the kitchen counters, cabinets, stove, and sink. I'm left with a double oven built in to a brick wall, a small 36" window above where the sink was (we plan to enlarge this window to 72"), a fridge, and a dishwasher. We replaced the flooring with hardwood to match the rest of the house. Other than those things there is absolutely nothing in the kitchen. No sink, no stove, no counters, just a big open room.

I'm attaching a mediocre picture of a birds-eye view. You can see the window at 72" wide, the brick oven, the doorway to the basement on the bottom right of the pic, the (open) doorway to the hallway where guest and master bedroom and bathrooms are at the top right. Next to the basement doorway is the fridge. On the other side of the peninsula there is open space. However, there is a doorway leading out to the deck on the other side of the peninsula in the bottom left hand corner. I probably only have 8 inches of space before that doorway frame starts.

The window wall is about 12 ft long. The space between window wall to brick oven is 75". The peninsula shouldn't be longer than 86" or the walkway between peninsula and basement door becomes too narrow.

I made the 3.5 hour trek to IKEA (one way!) to buy and pick up cabinet boxes. I've assembled some of the lower cabinets, but have a feeling I'll end up returning some/most after reconfiguring some things. Thankfully I hadn't ordered doors from Semihandmade yet.

Based on this photo and my description, what size gas stove would you get and where would you put it? For a 72" window would you do a sliding window, a picture window, casement (crank) windows? Any other advice for this "in over her head" girl?
