I am trying to do the same thing - it seems the silvered gray would be perfect but goes dark at night. How did your turn out?

Duraseal silvered grey seems to go feeen in some lights so tried a 50:50 w country white and a 75:25 country white

Have you applied a single coat of FINISH over the stains, Sonia?

In the gray samples you have, I'm seeing +++blue, lilac, purple, salmon, pink. A coat of finish will ENHANCE the tones you are seeing. If you use the wrong finish, you will get a yellow or orange layer over the blue = pickled oak from the 80s.

I put Silvered Grey on my red oak and it came out undeniably pink/flesh coloured. Not at all what I had hoped.

So happy I found this thread as I just had a horrible experience with Silvered Gray. i was so excited to have our red oak floors lighter and walked into our home to brand new PINK floors. I now have to go through an entire process and tons of money to redo everything.

Yes I ended up redoing them when darker did dark walnut and now they look amazing not the look I was going for but better than pink floors..good luck!!!!

Disappointing! We’re redoing ours with a mixture of 1 part Jacobean to two parts Silvered Grey to lighten.

It was a rough couple days but we are going to do a darker stain now as well. Appreciate your feedback! Ill get samples of both of those colors and see how they look in our rooms.

@soniagibbs can you please share final results and what you ended up doing? I’m doing my floors on Wednesday this week and totally thinking of 50/50 like u suggested with silvered grey and country white. HELP lol
