I think it's hard to say if this is too much too little, just right, etc without understanding what you are trying to accomplish, how it's laid out, the makeup of your family, etc. it looks like a LOT of hardware and personally, I have never really understood the whole prep kitchen thing unless you plan on entertaining with caterers so much that having someplace closed off makes sense.

I love my my SubZ fridge! I would definitely stick with that. I love to cook too and I love my Bluestar platinum range top. I love it so much that I am putting the same one in my new home.

just_janni I indicated that I have a big family and cook a lot. Suffice it to say, these are the appliances that I will need and I do entertain a lot. I am hoping to get feedback on what is good, bad, or otherwise, on the appliances, I have selected.

I am sorry, but there is a big difference between the Breville Smart Oven Air and a range. We have the Breville with a Miele induction range, and if I could only have one it would be the range. I mainly use the Breville for cooking things like roast potatoes, that need a higher temperature than the other items in the main oven.

Wine cooler or wine refrigerator?

Since I will have a Miele double oven in the main kitchen I thought the Breville would work in the prep kitchen since it has multiple features.

Do you keep a lot of wine? We don't, so I prefer a beverage fridge that reaches lower temperatures and allows you to keep other stuff in it too.

Since you like to cook, have you looked into the Miele CSO (convection steam oven)? I have the Miele CSO XXL, plumbed version, and it is my most used appliance. Will get another one in my next house. You can search the kitchen forum for lots of threads on that model. Majority here with CSOs are very happy with them.

Chispa thank you for your advice. We do go through a fair amount of wine and don't often consume other beverages except for the occasional beer when we have company.

No microwave? Sharp has a new microwave drawer that is also a convection oven, similar to the Speed Ovens, so you get 2 appliances out of one unit. I think it might do air frying too?

I am planning a microwave and forgot to include it on my list. Thank you for recommending the drawer. I've never used a drawer and wondered how it compares to microwave with a door.

I know a certain extremely high end mansion builder in Boston who designs with two kitchens and uses my sink in her prep for clean up because of the convenience. Something to think about. .
