Yes, try taking a picture from afar. We cant see where the fixture would go or how big it should be.

With low ceilings like that you want recessed cans or flush cans- nothing that sticks down.

Replace the fluorescent with as many of these as would look nice. They come in various finishes

I'd look into recessed lights instead. I hope you're putting cabinet doors back on? The doors need to clear the fixture when open.
