I am building a home with Pulte. This is my first home. It is in pre-drywall hanging stage. it has roof, plumbing, duct, wiring done. It rained for a couple of days and the sump pump failed and the basement got flooded. More about that later. While looking at the damage I noticed there is some water seeping into the basement through the wall in few places (four to be exact). Please see pics. Is this normal at this stage? The builder tried to convince me that when he adds dehumidifier and exterior landscape grading this will be fixed. It seems odd to me because there is obviously a crack ... irrespective of dehumidifier or grading. Why are they reluctant to fix? The only thing they seem to care about is city inspection. Will such a basement pass inspection if the inspector visits the basement when there is water seepage? Obviously the inspector will not know about it if it is dry when he/she visits.
