Spider Mite Damage?

This was not here a week ago when I last watered. It looks like spider mite damage to me. But I fertilized them a week ago with Cactus Juice as directed. I’m curious what it might look like if I splattered the leaves with it? Would it cause damage? Or is it probably spider mites? It’s just odd because the underside of the leaves is untouched as are the areas where it touches the stem. When I had spider mites last year they caused damage to the undersides and near the stem before they ever showed themselves on the tops. Everything I read said they preferred those areas. this is a special plant. Of everything on this table it’s the one I really wouldn’t want to lose. I pulled all the leaves showing damage hoping whatever caused it goes with them.

Oh, it does look similar! I was busy trying to google fertilizer damage. Didn’t think to just try “burn.” looks like I tore all those leaves off for nothing. Yikes. Haha

lesson learned. I’ll ask before I panic next time. Guess I’ll be doing some propping now

I’ve learned many things over the yrs when it comes to growing succulents. One of those things is to be patient and don’t act quickly because sometimes we end up doing some unnecessary stuff. Of course act quickly if it’s rot.

I remember a couple winters ago I found a mealybug infestation on about four of my Melocactus, and I freaked and acted hastily. I ended up drenching them in a liquid systemic. Bad idea during the winter. Well let’s just say I no longer have those four Melocactus. Looking back if I would have not panicked and acted so fast, I probably would have treated them how I normally treat mealybugs 99% of the time, with rubbing alcohol. If I took my normal mealybug route, who knows I could still have those cactus.

I did learn my lesson tho🙂.
