Do they provide enough light for the island? They just look like they provide a glow but no real task lighting.

They're beautiful! I think once your hood is done, the lights will look extra wonderful. Different topic, but what kind of counter is on your island? We're looking at a wood island with a wood counter, so I'm starting to research if that's practical.

They are beautiful, but look to me like they belong in a foyer, not above an island. I think I would want something that actually shines a light onto the island for tasks.

I like them! I have the same pendants but did not choose the globes. I felt the same way as you when they were first installed. I’ve gotten used to them and actually like them a lot now. The light is excellent.

Stiley, our countertops are honed marble. The contrast with our walnut island is beautiful! I’m excited to have everything finished so we can enjoy them.

Olychick, so far I have seen these used over islands, not in foyers, by designers online. That is an interesting thought, though.

And yes, I agree about the bulbs—I think our contractor just put in what he had, and I’d prefer something brighter and less yellow. I’ll switch them out this week and see if it helps!

Barefoot nurse...i have 35” from the bottom of the globe (or whatever it’s called, brain fog here) to the top of the stone. The only reason I did 35” is because I have a tall husband and two tall sons and didn’t want to block their view of the lake when they are at working at the island...or I would have done 32”.

I find them too heavy /too large for the space. Their spacing is ideal.

ILoveRed, your pendants have a different ratio vs the room space as compared to those of the author.

I find the 4 wires they hang by are too busy with the beams.

Barefoot Nurse...my attitude when I had mine installed and was initially less than thrilled was this...since they are custom and non-returnable..”why not finish up and live with them?” nothing to lose and they grew on me, especially liked them more when everything else was done.

Yes, Amanda, I had the same thought with the beige undertones of Swiss Coffee. We went with SW Alabaster—a classic, soft, slightly creamy choice. Really happy with it! The cabinets are by Shiloh Cabinetry, so it is their own “Soft White” cabinetry color. Slightly more mellow than the walls. It’s a nice classic contrast.

Thank you! I really want these but I’m so torn. 20% shipping fee to Canada. Plus brokerage fees and taxes/duties is like a scratch and save sale. I might get really luck and pay an extra 50% or get the usual 30%. I’ll try holding off until I can cross border shop again. It'll cost $80 for a tank of gas and 13% in taxes.

Cherie, they are Aged Brass! The sconces behind them (Ford’s Mill, also from Rejuvenation) are also Aged Brass.

I love the lights, love that they come down from the beams...but they are too large, the island should extend more past the lights, and I feel like the scale is not right with the range hood. Sometimes photos make items look different than they really are...

LOL THOR, I'm afraid that was my very first impression as well--glad I'm not the only one :) As far as my vote, your space looks so pretty, and in my mind would be enhanced by removing the visual "clutter" of pendants completely. Maybe remove the pendants for a while and see if you even miss them once the rest of the kitchen is complete? It would be easy to put overhead lighting in their place if needed.

I was also reminded of truck nuts.

But I think they will look fine when the kitchen is completed. Like Red did, wait and see. You can't return them anyway. But you can get different shades for them if they don't look better for you.

Do you mind me asking what size pulls and cup pulls you went with and what size the drawers these are? I was just looking online for hours and trying to figure out what sizes would work especially because rejuvenation is having a sale right now

Sure! I did 8” pulls (including on my dishwasher panel, not in yet), 3” cups, a few large latches on high cabinets (they are so delicate and not “large,” though, so don’t get small ones), and knobs. I also have an 18” pull on my island for an extra tea towel, hung opposite my sink:

The drawers are a combination of 36” and 29”, and the ones with cup pulls are smaller (22”). I also did cup pulls on all my Rev-a-Shelf pull outs and my trash drawer. Hope this helps!

Hmm that’s a hard call. I feel like you could do it, but you’re getting into territory where the drawer might look better with something larger.

Also I looked back on my notes, and I got a couple things wrong! I got the 4” Massey bin pulls, not the 3”. And I got the small cupboard latches, not the large, although there is only a 1/2” difference so I guess it doesn’t matter as much as I’d remembered. Hope this helps!

@barefootnurse yes I hear you ! I measured up the 4in. Bin pulls and they seem small on even a 25 in drawer. Such a shame because they are gorgeous !

I love those. I wanted those for my island but it wasn't quite wide enough!

Any other suggestions to fit both 25, 18 and 30 in shaker cabinets ? I ordered these last night for our mudroom built ins and love the finish

amanda, I really wanted the Hood. they were just too big. I looked at no less than 800 other lights. another poster on here suggested the ones that I eventually got, but can't remember where!

I did the gold inlay w/the Schluter Jolly brass edging w/my calacatta tiles too (vertical grout joints are the metal) matches the same gold of the pendants.

Sorry I just saw your questions, Amanda! Yes, Rejuvenation let me return them, but return shipping was crazy—$45 per globe. :( The island is 79” long.

It looks like there's an opening in the top of the globe that would allow dust to settle into the globe. Is that true? What is your experience? Thank you!

Klafnitz, they are open at the top, unfortunately. And they also have only a single bulb inside them, so they aren’t super bright, at least with the opal glass. They are fairly easy to unscrew and take down for cleaning—but yikes if one of them slipped and broke! Here’s a photo of the inside.

They’re the Home Decorators Collection Mavery Patina Oak Finish Wood Backless Counter Stool, and they are sold out most of the time, lol. Just sign up for alerts and buy them as soon as they are back in stock. They also have a version with a back! Very reasonably priced, too, and seem very sturdy after 3 weeks of daily use. I have 4 (almost 5) little kids so they’re perfect for us!

As much as I like them they seem a bit to weighty and opaque. Might suggest replacing with non-round globes.
