My jade plant needs help!

Found this gorgeous, full jade a couple weeks ago at the local plant store. Noticed a couple brown spots on a few of the leaves, but it honestly looked like damage from transport, and the store owner assured me it wasn't a pest or disease. There is lots of new growth on the plant so I thought it was healthy. Now the dark spots have been spreading and there is white fuzz around the spots. A few leaves have shriveled and dropped off, and many more leaves appear affected than before. Is this some kind of fungus? Can I save this plant? Any advice would be greatly appreciate!

I haven't repotted the plant from its original soil yet so I haven't seen the roots. The soil seems like regular bagged peat mix, not very chunky. The jade has been living near my southwest facing window.

I would take it back! I live on the coast of California have never seen your problems. My plants outdoor s sun morning and br. shade afternoon. Good luck!

Store owner either didn't know or lied to you...that jade has a powdery mildew. That is a fungal disease. It isn't the worst of diseases, but you were assured it is healthy...I would return it and tell them it wasn't appreciated...It is better to say "I don't know" than to lie...JMO

Sadly I don't have the receipt anymore but I can try to take it back. Any chance it can be saved?

If it were me, I would take it back! If the owner of the shop does not make it right with refund or replacement, I would at least cause a scene and let other shoppers know what happened .

Yes, it could be 'saved' - BUT you were lied to...as jojosplants said...

Plant don't die from powdery mildew (it would have to be really huge problem for that). You could try to get rid of affected leaves; avoid keeping foliage wet. Good air circulation helps.

Good news, they cleared me for an exchange, haha. I realized I don't want to have the plant hanging around potentially spreading powdery mildew to all my other plant babies. Thanks for the help, all!
