I am building an 8 foot floating wall desk in my office.

It weighs ~87 lbs.

I first installed a 2x4 x 8feet directly into 6 studs along the wall for the shelf to sit on along the very back. ( I put TWO 3'' screws into each stud).

I put a 2x2 x 19'' cleats on either side but each side had only 1 stud, so this was not enough support.

I found very strong L shaped brackets, so I purchased two to put on each ends of the desk.

I then put a 2x2 vertically (directly below the horizontal 2x4) into the stud on the two ends to provide the same plane for the bracket to sit on.

I screwed in the brackets into the 2x4/2x2 as well as directly under the countertop.

My question is - I have 4 studs in between the two brackets.

Given the length of the desk (8ft) and i plan to put a laptop, printer/copier, router/modem, light, etc. How many more brackets should I install (and where)?
