I would continue the upper cabinets to meet the lowers on that back wall next to washer/dryer. It is unlikely you will need or use that side of the counter

Also put in full depth cabinets for those uppers if they fit if not the half depth

Since my ceiling height is 94” I had to do some figuring. I put 2 5”drawers on the counter, then the pullouts on top of that. I did a 15” up at the ceiling to lineup with the cabinet above the w/d. That left a 3” gap which I will just put a filler. The gap is shown in the pic

Good solution. Put the filler at the ceiling. Change other cab to awning door. I’ll be planning laundry cabinets soon. Thanks for the ideas.

I would avoid a gap as much as possible. Just creates a horizontal surface to clean.

I was also thinking of putting the 3” gap above the drawers and making it a pullout drying rack.
