When can you plant your veggies out? I think that once they’re outdoors in the earth with sunshine and fresh air all these issues will evaporate.

As floral-uk stated, will do better outside if warm enough. Probably just a little too cool, little too wet in the cool, should keep dryer if not that warm. Lights should be closer to leaves, and you should slowly expose them to natural sun.

Thanks guys!!! I brought out the pepper plants to be in the sun for the day. We want to do raised beds and haven't built them as of yet. Plan is to transplant may 22. For now I can introduce them to outside during the day. Tonight and tomorrow it goes down to 3 degrees. But from there on out temps seem to be going up. Day time temps between 15 and starting to go above 20. I'm in Ontario.

Thanks for the advice. I only put half of the pepper plants out for the afternoon... To see how they would take it. Thank you for the advice. I am supposed to pick up a little bit larger pot tomorrow to transplant them into... I'll try to kick into gear with garden beds. Worst case scenario, I do have 12" pots they could go in. But we really wanted to do raised beds. It's just hard to get done with hubby working and me taking care of two little kids. Excuses be damned. Basically make it happen. Haha.

Ha ha. I understand. Been there. Kids, job, aged parents. I never used raised beds because of the effort and expense (if you bring in soil) involved in making them. Just gardened in the earth available. Could you just plant in the soil in your yard?

three weeks before planting in full sun ...

you should first move them out to full shade ..

the next week morning or evening sun ...

week three into full sun .. or in the ground...

all while protecting from night cold ...

its called hardening off ... of all plant culture variables .. not just sun ...

and this fall.. build your new beds for next spring ... it sure makes the job easier next spring ...

never put a houseplant in full sun ... until properly hardened off
