Looking for laundry /mudroom layout advice

Hi! I’m looking for some layout for my laundry/mudroom. I’m looking to create a mudroom from the current bonus room with lockers and bench. I was thinking of a row of cabinetry lockers along the back wall with a bench under the windows. I’m not sure if I should create some sort of hallway or wall to close off the space. Currently there is a door to the laundry room and then another door into the bonus room. It’s such a tight squeeze in the laundry room, and the garage door into the laundry room opens right into the washer (I drew in the current door configurations). I’m willing to get rid of the fireplace from the family room and push that wall back into the bonus room so we can get more space in the family room or keep it and update/remodel it. I’m attaching pics of the current space as well. The last layout pic is the configuration from the original builder for people that made the bonus room into a bedroom. Mine doesn’t have the hallway or wall. It’s all open except for the door from the laundry room into the bonus room which I drew in.

We are a family of 4 (two kids 10 and 7) in Southern CA. We are on a slab foundation so plumbing is a bit of an issue to move. how would you configure this space and create a mudroom? Would you create a hallway and close it off? We were thinking of keeping the flex space for future resale (playroom space) and use it as a game room /office space. Thanks!
