Watering transplanted Eastern Redbud tree with Tree Gator...

I had a 7-8ft redbud installed and purchased a tree gator jr (15 gallon max) to supply it with water. How often should I be watering it with the bag? Is once a week enough? Obviously during the summer if we have a string of 90+ degree days, I would look to do it more but assuming we dont have tons of rain, is once per week with a 15 gallon bag enough, too much?
