Can crusher???

I agree with soda can crusher.

I don't think it is a can crusher. There was a can crusher installed right next to it as well. Here is a picture of the fan crusher next to it.

I have also included a few other pictures.

It does look like meant to crush something—- plastic water & soda bottles? The small circular cutout in bottom makes me guess That. Not sure why one would crush plastic bottles except as space saver.

I'd wager something like a tailor's clapper or cuff clapper, but it doesn't close tightly, does it?

KW, I suspect you are correct, since that circular cutout really screams bottletop and it was right next to the can crusher. OP, you need to do a video demo.

(I confess I don't understand the burning need to crush random containers, but maybe that's so they fit better into the city recycling bin or something?)

I was signing on to say that it is a soda bottle crusher and see it's already been mentioned. Great minds think alike! We use to stomp on our cans and bottles to be able to fit everything into the recycling bin. What great homemade tools!!!

Well @Circus Peanut, I did learn something from this thread - I’d never heard of either a tailor’s or cuff clapper so had to look both items up.. who knew such things existed? 😊
