Depends on the color of your Taj Mahal slabs. The ones you see mostly these days do not look like your photo, they are more gray-ish, sometimes with a hint of green. and tend to have a linear pattern. Have you picked out a slab?

Definitely choose your exact slab and get a sample piece from it to carry around with you while shopping for flooring. My Dad’s Taj is very light gray with cream, light “golden retriever” colors bits and reads “light neutral” when you look at from a distance. Some Taj is more tan and some is more gray. I’ve seen the Taj with some green also. So your stain and flooring choices will depend on your specific slab.

So these replies make me more nervous. I haven’t picked out my own counters before and Didn’t know the slabs could vary that much. When they order mine I assume I can Ask for a new slab if I don’t like the color they get in? I definitely don’t want gray with hint Of green!

Ask your builder where to go to choose your slabs. I don’t know how new builds work and if they let you do that. For most products you can choose from a showroom and what’s ordered comes as you expected. But with natural stone there’s a lot of variation, because it’s natural.

You should be working with a stone yard that has slabs on site, you see it, you select it, they hold it for you (probably with a deposit). And of course before you go you need to know the amount of stone you’ll need, so having the drawings in hand really helps. Having in hand your cabinet selection as well as flooring is a good idea too so you can see that they all work together....or not! Good luck and enjoy the process!
