I prefer 1 or 2 - the first though may become dated faster than the second. I agree the herringbone feels busy and doesn’t provide the visual expansion of the space as the others do.

I have Cloe in my kitchen. It has so much color and shine that in my opinion, herringbone is overkill. I LOVE herringbone, but not in Cloe.

I llke the herringbone. I am not a fan of the other 2 because I don't prefer that much variation in the color with a very orderly / MCM layout. The herringbone, IMO, agrees with the business of the tile itself

I want to add that I almost did a vertical offset in my kitchen, but decided to do a traditional pattern instead. For my bathroom, I’m thinking about doing a vertical offset. I think it’s beautiful in the shower.

Herringbone will cost you 2-3x labor and more material usage, even if on a mat.

We went with herringbone on the central wall only—another option to consider if you like herringbone but don’t want to be overwhelmed by it.

I am considering herringbone in the cloe as well in my guest bathroom. What did you end up doing?
