Shelves or cabinets would help balance the off center window. I would not do angled shelves or cabinets as I personally feel they are a bit dated. If you don‘t need the extra cabinet space, shelves would be beautiful in your space. Here is a picture from the current issue of Beautiful Kitchen and Baths that has a very similar color and layout to yours. Notice that their window is off center also.

I was thinking of putting the shelves on the hood wall to balance the right side with the fridge, not the window wall but maybe I should put them on the window wall... or put them in an l-shape...

I agree that you should probably do shelves on the fridge wall only. The L shaped shelves work in that kitchen because their window looks to be more offset than yours, so they had more of an return. I‘m a big believer in prototyping. Mock both versions up in cardboard and tape it to the wall to see if it becomes clear that one is a better option than the other.

I have 2 L-shaped corner shelves with built in LED lights. Very clean and unfussy, and lights up the counter well for prepping.

I would go with L shaped shelves as the window is not centered on the wall. This way the bottom of the "L" that will run a little on the window wall but mostly on the fridge wall will balance out the window.

IMO everything does not need to be “balanced”. I would put the shelves on the refrigerator wall. I like a clean window wall. You could put a beautiful lamp in the corner. I love lamps on counters. Really adds a great touch. You have a beautiful corner for a lamp.
