They look pretty much the same to me as well :-) Here is what one British website has to say about Desdemona : "This cultivar is very similar to and somewhat difficult to distinguish from Ligularia dentata 'Othello', except it is slightly larger and produces slightly larger flowers."

Interesting. We have several, and of course I don't remember the exact names of which and where we planted them. They haves also seeded around, which is nice. Some have glossy reddish bronze leaves while others have a matte green with a tinge of purple.

I must say they are some of my favorite plants. I would grow them just for the foliage, but then they put up these flower spikes that look like something from a sci-fi movie, and produce these daisy shaped mango colored flowers. Totally unexpected.
