1x1 glass tiles would be my choice around the perimeter and on the weir. Another option is to use granite on the weir and glass tile around the perimeter only.

We went with 6x6 dark blue for water line tile, concrete pool deck. It was our 9th choice tile but the first 8 were not in stock and they could not give me a date (could have been months out), we wanted our pool ready this month for the hot florida summer! So, I agree with chispa, make sure they tell you what is in stock first before you choose something (or 8) that you love and they can't get.

We waited 7 weeks for special order glass tile. It was originally a 2 week wait that escalated.

Thanks for your help thus far. Given shape of pool and wanting it to look clean thereby omitting option of larger sized tile which would need to be cut. We are going w 1x1. Glass is out of budget. Looking at $5/sw ft so keeping simple. Question has to do w color of tile if we use St Maarten plaster on bottom of pool. I think dark blue. But also dark teal. Any opinions? Links? Have you looked through the thousands of pool photos on Houzz? That is how I came up with the look I wanted and then found products that gave me the same or similar look.

I do not recommend trying to match the water. The color will appear different at various sun angles throughout the day and season. Mine matches sometimes; clashes sometimes.

Contrast is better.
