What about returning to a single door as drawn?

We already have to reframe the door because it was framed for a double door with a transom. That door came in and we hate it. We thought it was going to be taller but the height of the door slab was only 6’7”. I think either way, double door or single, the window looks too small for the space. It looks nicer from the outside than the inside.

I had my heart set on double doors. I really don’t want a single with sidelights.

It was drawn with the single door and we left it that way because we weren’t sure what we wanted to do. I love double doors with glass.

I would order a larger window then ... the question is how quickly can they get it delivered?

He’s checking. The half round will be larger as well. We had also asked for the half round to be lower but it didn’t get framed that way. We’ve had to stay on top of every “after the prints” change. We like our builder, he’s a great guy and honest but he doesn’t write everything down.

I prefer double doors also (very useful with furniture and large items) and have a similar 2 story foyer. Our window above the double doors is larger than the width of the doors. Hopefully you can change it. Beautiful home!

That looks like some serious reframing to do if you enlarge that window. Then reinsulation, reinspection. Is it worth 3 months?
