My new in-ground pool was just finished on June 4, 2021. However, we have had some issues with the coping. The coping for the pool and above ground spa is poured in place concrete. After the first pour, the mason's team over etched it with the acid wash and power washer and left huge gouges in the coping all over. It was on a Friday before a holiday and we believe the team rushed the job. The mason himself came out and agreed that if we wanted to redo it, he'd do so as it didn't look right. They ended up having to remove all of the coping and do a re-pour 2 weeks later. Almost immediately, we found this crack in the spa coping and it's right where you enter the spa steps. The mason sent someone out to "fix" it (twice) but it seems to only be a minor patch that, once water hit it, the crack reappeared. We're very concerned due to its location and we're afraid this piece of coping will break off. As you can see, it's right at one of the control joins and on the curved edge. Is there anything that can be done to secure this section and prevent it from breaking off? Can we add something, like maybe tile, along the top edge to help secure it? We've given the mason two opportunities to fix this but we get the feeling he's just done with us and just says, "All concrete cracks." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
