Bittersweet has easily recognizable bright orange roots if you are digging it out (it will likely come back if you leave the roots).

Thank you! I noticed some orange. I followed the guidance on the extension service fact sheets and cut most low to the ground and treated the stumps. There were many small to large, under a large douglas fir. Not my property, but I'll keep up w them now that I took the first stab at controlling them. Thank you!
