I seriously think it ALREADY IS a WOW! I keep looking and cannot find a think I would change.

I'm really not liking the way this looks! Need a change. Maybe dif. Center piece? Chairs? Etc.?

I would get rid of the tree in the middle of the doors. Add some colour to the the chair upholstery, since they are blending in with the carpet. Some drapery panels would help a great deal with the space.

What color were you thinking and what kind of drapery?

Very hard to judge your room from one picture. Something isn’t working for me. Try having two seats face the slders, two seats backs to the sliders, and one seat on either side/

There seems to be all sorts of plants or something in the room. Remove those and the centerpiece on the table.

To the right and left of the sliders you have wall sconces. That is fine, but then one side has a picture on the wall, the other doesn’t.

Then the person with the towel…does he stay or go? Rather off-putting.

If the sconces weren't so close to the window I'd suggest a two-story silver and/or red window treatment for some wow, but I don't think you'd want too much of the drape covering the window and it would bump the sconce. So, instead of the tree and the tall floral I'd add a killer chandelier. Maybe a trio of #1, a pair of #2, or simply #3.

Replace the seat covers with a simple patterned fabric and change the carpet. It's too heavy (textured) for that furniture. A flat-woven carpet would lighten up the room (think of it as art on the floor). Remove the palm tree (??) and replace the centerpiece with a huge bouquet of fresh flowers instead. Put sconces with more personality. You could put a veil curtain with some tone on tone texture to fill up the space without hiding the great view!

If you want to stick to neutral colours without being boring this kind of carpet would be an interesting choice. It also slightly picks up the colours in the painting without making it too obvious. You could then choose a matching fabric for the chairs. First is the carpet, second fabric is for the chairs and third is the sheer for the curtains.

Here are some fun ideas for the sconces. They all pick up on the colours and shapes in the fabrics.

I would be more inclined to hang a fabulous chandelier over the table in lieu of the tall table centre. The cascading one in the above suggestions would look great. Love the candle sticks. The rug is quite "heavy" looking, as previously mentioned, but I like the colour. You have a great sense of fun going on in this room and I assume this reflects your personality.

A gorgeous Oriental rug would be my first choice. Using a color(s) in the rug, choose a fabric to go on the chairs which would complement the rug. Get rid of the tree and the fake guy in the photo. It's difficult to see what is used for lighting above the table. A beautiful light fixture always adds to wow factor. Is the centerpiece tall because there isn't a light fixture hanging down? It looks like you can see a covered charcoal grill through the window. I would move that, if possible, so you don't see it when you walk in the door. Pots of seasonal flowers of something with color would look nice as you look out this glass door. I like the idea of some statement sconces replacing the ones pictured. You might consider having the wood on the chairs painted a light color by someone who knows what they are doing so they wouldn't look so dark. Also, make sure the plant on left side of photo adds to the room (I can't tell if it is suppose to droop or not). Good luck!

It's very bottom heavy because of the rug. Then the table, being glass, makes the furniture floaty. The table needs a runner or two and a centerpiece low and textured. Something very organic looking. Change the rug... There were good suggestions already given. Is that a Halloween butler? Or ?

My first thought was a lighter carpet also. That would be so much better. Like the ones posted by Lydia. Those colors are sort of beachy and would "go" with the palm tree. And the palm tree is enough as a point to bring a smile. That lifesize guy is too much. Maybe he can find a different home (Inside a guest room closet would certainly bring a few screams!)

It looks like you are trying too hard to make it wow. Please remove the rug, man, tree and everything off the table.... Then post that picture.

Personally, I think it's a very pretty room... Can you take the lights off the tree? Not really liking that..
Maybe put the man in front of that... A large vase with colorful flowers and not so much on the table..
I have never gone into a house that has dishes on the table unless we are there for dinner... I really like the rug, and those French doors are awesome!

We don't mind the rug so much, but if keeping, would change out the seat covers to something with more drama - perhaps incorporating the red from the accents. Given the texture of the rug, the "butler" and the center piece should be removed. Low, architectural candle piece for center or a dramatic hanging light over the table. Cannot tell what's on the bench, but we'd balance out the other wall. Art on the left and something under.

I think the problem is that the rug is so bold and textured that all the pattern of tableware on the glass table is just way too much to take in. Since the rug is something you love, could you do a different table? I'm not sure what your house style is so you'd have to use that as your guide, but perhaps a solid white or black tabletop would look better and keep the modern look you have going with the rug.
And since you are attached to your butler, maybe having a place that'd emphasize him would be better- if you have a pool perhaps he could hold a beach towel near the door or perhaps by a wetbar? That way you can keep your personality in your home but it'd work a bit better.

The table does seem to be floating away. Deco above posted a great pic of a wood table with a hanging fixture. Simple and elegant.
