They're both Sambucus, Elder, presumably S. nigra subsp. canadensis. Being seed grown wild Elders are variable in appearance and flowering period. Now’s the time to make some elderflower cordial.

Thanks Flora, hard to believe that two Sambucus so distinctly different are the same species. One thing for sure, the fragrance from the flowering one is really strong and pleasant especially late in the day. I'm thinking that there are many concoctions that can be made from them.

Sam they were blooming at McLean Nursery yesterday.

I see a few wild Sambucus blooming along the roadways now. Attractive.....

They're all finished flowering here now. The bloom season isn't long.
