Agree that the first one has a more serene and softer feeling and thats why I voted for it.

Ok, sorry I was looking more closely beyond the living room and saw your large piece of art in the hallway area. Its a very bold and strong piece and I still like the first rug but would add some pillows that have a bold presence to work with the art. Having a bit more neutral, softer feeling rug combined with some bolder pillows would look great too.

Yes thanks. I do have bold art. The adjoining dining room has a bold painting as well. The space is neutral but colour added through art

Love the art, especially the piece in the dining room. Definitely the less bold rug for sure now as you want your art to be the show. The 2nd rug option will fight with the art IMO

Why not try both? Make sure you can get a full refund for returning. My past experience is there are a lot of different colors of white and purchasing on line it’s hard to tell until you put them together. Or if can see in person bring a pillow or cushion to match the colors. Do the same with picking a couple of accent pillows. It’s hard for me also when you are just about done with your space and you are looking for just the right piece to tie it all together. You have done an amazing job. Good luck.🍀

Have you seen them both in person? Alvarez in the garden color you linked is a subtler pattern in person than it looks on the online picture (I almost ordered it for myself then switched to a blue and cream color scheme); more abstract than the defined geometry of that screenshot. That said, I don't think you can go wrong either way.
