Hurricane Elsa Challenge

Hurricane Elsa is headed smack dab to my house. BAHHH....I'm ignoring her......because of all the stuff that's going on.....can't help it. You all are going through something, too........are we going to take this just sitting in our chairs???? yes! yes we are!!! at least for the most part. lol Another way to handle this, is to challenge yourself......or 'make' yourself do something you think you don't want to but really do. Let's try this. Or not, it's up to you. We all have squares and rectangles just waiting for us to do something with, right? Here ya go........pick a really easy one......just sew some squares together until it's a certain size. Then make another one...... Or strips, or rectangles. I like Wedding Dress Blue.......she usually comes up with some good stuff for squares, rectangles, and HSTs that arre pretty easy. Does anything spark your fancy? I think I'm going to turn my leader/ender into mofre of a to-do thing for now since it's just a pinwheel. Now we hope for power to run the machine. lol

Okay, Sharon, I'm going to accept your challenge and commit to start quilting my Compelling Women quilt. It's been sitting at my Tiara, all sandwiched, since February. I hope I remember what color thread I finally decided on, or I will have to go through that exercise again. I don't know how long my back will tolerate quilting, but it's time to find out. Ready, set, go!!

Lois, Hopefully you have permission from the dr to do that. Please be careful. We are still evacuated at our daughter's house but hope to go home later on this afternoon. It's still raining and there's some flooding, but I think we can get to our house without a problem. I'm chomping at the bit to get some sewing done.

Sharon, I took your challenge and SANDWICHED a baby quilt. The top has been finished for a week (or more) so I finally put the three parts together. Now to get motivated to thread the machine and quilt it!

Good for you, Sue! You did something!!!!!

We were able to come back home this afternoon. No damage.....just a few limbs in the driveway......one good sized one. Water in the greenhouse, but was prepared for. All in all, we're ok. I think I heard Elsa moved further west when it went by our county, so that saved us a lot of wind damage. She landed a couple counties north of us. We were spared. Neither one of us hardly slept at all last night so we've been napping off and on all day. As long as I'm able, I'm making myself sew every day........today it will have to be later. lol

Sharon, I’m glad you didn’t get much trouble from Elsa. Over here in the Orlando area it was pretty boring. We had a HUGE thunderstorm on Monday that was way more exciting.

Ha, I now have 3 different little blocks I'm playing with. Bonnie Hunter's new Fish leader/ender, making pinwheels, and little butterflies using dresden plate blade. Fun fun fun.......nothing finished. Just fun. lol I plan to make the pink one smaller and am using mostly Batiks. In this picture, the blades are sewn together and the rest is glued since I haven't totally decided on the end result. The body is problematic for me. Any easy way to make it look better?
