Do you have any "routine" things you do before or after our first storm of the season?

I have a small porch/walkway in front of my apartment, and since it has an overhang and faces south, it's a perfect place to put plants that need to stay dry but need lots of sun. Every year, after the first storm, I remove everything and clean the siding behind it, the large LR windows, and try to get the concrete as clean as possible. I just finished and am waiting for it to dry and bake in the sun a bit before I take the plants back out and water them.

Yesterday, it was bed cleanup time. All the potted plants were in the courtyard, so I weeded and cleaned the beds and put a fresh layer of leaves on top. Then I took all the plants and made sure they had enough soil left on top, potted up some rooted cuttings, up-sized some pots, and sorted them all out to put back out into the beds. I still have a few to go, because I wanted to plant my groundcovers after the yard crew left, so they'll have a week to settle in before they come back through. I may put a "do not mow" sign up so they will have more time to settle in, but they're pretty tough.

It's too hot to do anything outside now, but tomorrow is another day, and there is always something to do.
