installing doorbell button on stucco

So replacing a cheap plastic doorbell for this flush one from rejuvenation. I didn’t realize it had this huge protruding cylinder on the back that needs to go into the wall in order for the button to sit flush.

Do I just start drilling out stucco until it fits? Any concerns with that?

Should I rethink this doorbell?
