Is this pottery barn reclaimed table worth it?

I saw a deal that sells this below coffee table and 2 end tables for 1300. The retail on pottery barn for the 3 is 2400 before tax:

it is almost half off and it does look attractive. I don't know if the reclaimed wood is some weak stuff that will break easily (but good for sustainability i guess?). Not sure if the 1300 is good deal or I can ask lower or should skip it all together? Frankly its probably more than what I want to spend on coffee table and end tables BUT if it is a great deal and can last a while then i wouldnt mind.

What would be a good asking price since the person already dropping to nearly half?

This table is not functional as a dining table. It has multiple individual pieces of "reclaimed" wood that are rough and irregular and that absorb moisture, flake off when wiped with a sponge or rag, and capture anything that is spilled, resulting in a surface that can't be properly cleaned and will become a unhealthy over time. I have this table and the only way it can be used as a dining table is to cover it fully with a glass top. While it looks nice, it simply isn't functional as a dining table. Advertising it as a dining table is totally illogical and misleading.

I have a Pottery Barn sofa table made with reclaimed wood in another style and it's very strong and sturdy.

Would you say the asking price of 1300 is fair from the retail 2400 or can I ask lower. What would be a reasonable ask without being lowballing. The post been on for a month so I guess either the guy wouldn't budge or people feel ita overpriced...

i have PB reclaimed furniture and it is very sturdy. I would offer 1000 and see if he meets you in the middle

Like Jennifer suggested, offer him $1,000 cash. Most used furniture never sells for even half of what someone paid for it. I think a $1,000 offer is reasonable. He may come back with a counter of $1,100 or $1,200. But if you love it and it's in like new condition, you'd still be saving 50% or more.

I'm guessing I am the oldest commentator on this post. In my 52 years of marriage, I can't count how many coffee tables I have had. Styles change, taste changes, budget changes...reclaimed wood furniture is popular now, but like most it will lose its appeal. It is also a particular decorating style. I cringe when I think about our first purchases. That coffee table could be made into a casket...and it wasn't cheap!

If you like the style, shop around...this is an extreme, but it's a coffee table from Target for under $200.00 with great reviews. And you can choose from several stains.

In my area, a used set like this would probably sell for much less than a third of original retail. The style may be out of date sooner rather than later, if that matters to you, because it's been popular for several years already.

@Jennifer Havin yeah she wont budge from 1300. She said if she cant sell she will just move it with her. I gave her my max of 1200 so we'll see.

My reclaimed wood coffee table and side table both have chips, the coffee table has a very large one after only a few months. They said due to it being reclaimed wood, they won't service any warrantees on it whatsoever. I didn't do *anything* to these tables, I live alone and am very gente and a huge ~2 inch by 1/4 inch chunk flaked right off. I would never buy reclaimed anything again, and I am almost certainly not going to buy from Pottery Barn again where I have to read fine details to know I won't get warrantees on products months later because they are made from inferior products. What an eye-sore for a basically brand new table.
